VW Caddy Maxi LWB Auto
The VW Caddy Maxi panel van slots neatly into VW’s range of vehicles. It’s the Caddy van that has really cemented it’s place in the load-moving ranks but with a good chunk of extra space. The whole thing is packaged up with a familiar feel and you won’t even realise you’re carrying an extra metre cubed of space around when you’re in the cab.
VW Caddy Maxi LWB Interior
Econorent stock the top end Caddy Maxi, the Highline model. You can expect a great touchscreen media centre compatible with Android and Apple. Climate control air conditioning with cooled glove compartment is nice bonus in a load mover like this. You’ll be grateful for the heated windscreen and seats on a cold winters morning. Some nice extras are the cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors and USB charger. You can leave your TomTom at home as GPS in built in too. A real class leading set of features to make your journey much nicer.
VW Caddy Maxi LWB Drive
The Caddy range has always set itself apart from its peers in the driving experience. Other compact vans like the Citroen Berlingo and Ford Connect might be nipping at its heels in other areas but the refined drive of the Caddy is still number one. This 4th generation Caddy packs 2 litre engines as standard for better pulling power. The DSG automatic gearbox is in Econorent hires and is a godsend in traffic. Economy is help by the stop/start engine system, a first for the Caddy here. The 48.7 mpg claimed is a pretty close attempt in our testing. We often get 45 mpg from it.
VW Caddy Maxi LWB Practicality
The Maxi variant of the Caddy is one of the largest of the compact van breed. The exterior Highline specification features alloys and fog-lights. Our Maxi Caddy has dual side doors for the ultimate in flexibility. It has bigger back doors than the last Caddy too. They are asymmetric and open to 180 degrees. The load space will easily accommodate a euro pallet and it comes with the a full-height solid bulkhead. Internally it’s eight load-lashing rings, interior light and hardboard side protection make moving whatever you need a stress-free exercise. 4.2 cubed metres of volume is a figure worthy of note in this class.
