The Rio consists of automatic headlights with cornering ability along with both front and rear fog lights, rain sensing wiper blades with washers and an automatic window and mirror defog system making this car more than capable for all driving conditions.
From a driving perspective this car offers everything you would expect from a ‘hot hatch’ such as power steering, ABS (automatic braking system) and cruise control. Parking this small hatchback is made a breeze thanks to the reversing sensors and automatically adjustable door mirrors, which also fold away when parked. A tight turning circle of just 5.26 metres further evidences this. In addition to the aforementioned, the car also indicates when it is necessary to change gear, amounting to a driving experience that is truly effortless.
Offering a multitude of luxury features, the Rio provides comfort to the highest level. The car is sufficiently spacious for a small hatchback and suitable for five adults for short trips across East Anglia or for a family with children hiring the car for a longer journey.
The safety features on the Rio are excellent and it is well equipped to accommodate children. The car has child safety door locks as well as being compatible with child seats due to the ISOFIX top tethers and anchor fixings. Other safety features include a speed sensing door locking mechanism, height adjustable headrests alongside the obligatory alarm and immobiliser.
The interior consists of black cloth upholstery providing a smart finish whilst the leather steering wheel and gear lever offer an extra touch of luxury. The cabin benefits from automatic air conditioning to keep cool or heated front seats when needed on a colder day.
As expected, the driving position can be personalised to your taste with a fully adjustable steering wheel, mirrors, seatbelt height and seat position.

In the front, the centre console is fitted with a CD Player and both a USB and auxiliary input cable port enabling you to play music through your devices such as iPods or phones to make this hire car feel like your own. The car also has a Bluetooth hands free system built in ensuring you don’t miss a call while out on the road and the steering wheel is mounted with audio controls meaning you never have to divert your attention from the road. The centre console also has a 12V power socket allowing you to charge your devices while out on the road and as expected there is a glove box to hide all your valuables in the vehicle if necessary.
With the car being packed with features it would be a disappointment if the performance didn’t live up to the expectation but there are no such concerns with the Rio 3. The acceleration is as you would expect from a 1.4litre diesel reaching 60mph in 13.7 seconds and achieving a maximum speed of 106mph.
When hiring this car there will be no concerns about conserving fuel as the fuel consumption is exceptionally good and can reach up to 76.3mpg aided by Kia’s intelligent stop and go technology keeping your total hire costs low.
